Your bedroom is one of the most important rooms in the house. It is the place where you start and end the day, and it can have a big impact on your mood. That is why it is crucial that you have a well-designed, stylish bedroom to start and end the day in.

If your bedroom is getting you down, but you just don’t have the funds for a full bedroom revamp, there is no need to worry. There are lots of unique and creative ways you can give your bedroom a fresh, new look, without overspending.

For our guide to decorating your bedroom on a budget, have a read of this.

Are your walls looking a little grubby? If so, it might be a good idea to give them a quick wash before doing anything else. Use a mild detergent, some warm water and an old flannel to give your walls a quick once over. You may be surprised by how much of a difference giving your walls a wipe over will make to how they look.

If your walls still don’t look quite right, consider giving them a once over with the paint. For this, you can use leftover paint from when you originally painted, to touch up any scratches or marks on the walls. For help and ideas for decorating, you can try these North London decorators.
If you are bored of the look or colour of the paint, you may be tempted to repaint the room completely, however, repainting it may be quite pricey. Instead, why not add in an accent wall?  This will change the look of the room, the colour scheme of the room, and it will give the space a focal point.

If you are bored of your furniture, or it doesn’t fit in with the new style of your bedroom, consider revamping it yourself. You may think that upcycling old furniture sounds tricky, but it is actually really easy to do, and best of all, doesn’t cost too much.

If, for example, your bedside table doesn’t fit in with the new theme of the room, think about ways you could transform it to work well. For instance, for wooden pieces, you could paint, paper or varnish them.

3. Upgrade the hardware

It simple to do, but can make all the difference to the look and feel of your bedroom. Changing the hardware on your bedside table or chest of draws may seem insignificant, but it can actually make a real difference to the space.

For example, investing in beautiful new draw handles for your chest of drawers can either modernise it or add a vintage look to it, depending on the style you want.

Changing the hardware on furniture and doors is an easy, inexpensive way to update pieces and features you already have and make them unique to your style.

4. Invest in accessories

It is amazing how much of a difference accessories like throw cushions, curtains and bed linen can make to a space. If, for example, you have opted for plain walls, things like a printed bedspread and mix and match printed throw cushions tend to work well.

To tie together the design of your bedroom, opt for unique and stylish accessories that work well in the space.
